How do I stop condensation in my camper van?

Condensation comes from many sources within our camper vans and it is almost impossible to stop this entirely. However, the CamperTherm 3-Layer Insulation System is designed to help minimise this problem.

Moisture is created through the use of heaters and stoves and is even created by the occupants of the vehicle breathing. Condensation occurs when warm air meets cold and manifests itself as water droplets which can normally be seen on the panels or windows of the camper van as these are the areas with the greatest temperature differential.

The CamperTherm 3-Layer Insulation System minimises condensation by use of high-tech thin synthetic materials which do not absorb moisture. They help reduce what is known as thermal bridging which is where hot air moves towards cold via the path of least resistance through gaps in the insulation. It is therefore important to use high quality materials and ensure that all exposed bodywork is covered in insulation material.

Ventilation is also very important to alleviate condensation. This is best achieved through installation of a roof-mounted rotating air vent which will not allow rain water in to the vehicle. Ventilation allows warm, moist air to escape before it has a chance to condense.

Remember: Water + Metal = Rust

Avoid condensation by ventilating your camper van and using the high-tech CamperTherm 3-Layer Insulation System available through our online shop.
