Why spray insulation is not a good solution

Updated: Mar 16, 2023

We will explain why spray insulation is not a good solution when insulating your camper van due to the inherent safety issues and product degradation.

Firstly, spray foam needs to be professionally applied. The equipment necessary and the expertise required all costs money and this means increased expense for you.

Warping can be a major problem with spray foam. If it does not have somewhere to expand into, the product can warp which results in rapid product degradation.

Spray foam is a very permanent solution. If you ever envisage using your van for another purpose in the future, then spray foam is not a good option as it is very difficult to remove. Conversely, our insulation system is simple to remove if necessary.

Your build also needs to be perfect before installation as it is impossible to undo any mistakes afterwards. This means that your battening, electrical and water conduits will not be able to be altered once spray insulation has been installed.
